This address is a sort of extension of the Los Amigos hostel restaurant; only here, waiting time is considerably reduced. Although Maracuyá also prepares dishes, we recommend it above all for mornings.

After meeting his wife - a Guatemalan woman - in France, Angelo, a young Italian retiree, decided to settle in the Petén with her. Today, he is without a doubt the head of the best restaurant in the village, located at the edge of the Petén Itzá lagoon, at the beginning of the road that leads to the Cerro Cahuí biotope. He prepares his own bread, but above all, his pasta and pizzas, which are absolutely delicious. Angelo is an expert on the area and will be happy to share his knowledge with you if you ask.

Hotel Isla de Flores has a good little restaurant, which, in addition to bringing the food to the rooftop of the establishment, holds an adjacent, more peaceful room, accessible from the street. You go there for its excellent and hearty burgers, but you can also find the classics of fast international cuisine, ranging from paninis to sandwiches, pastas and salads. The menu also includes a wide variety of breakfasts and some Guatemalan specialties, such as chicken pepián. Very fast service.

This charming little lakeside restaurant has a special feature: its chef fuses Mayan Itza and Mopan cuisine with international dishes. He prepares tournedos with cheese sauce, white fish en papillote, pasta and pizza, as well as chicken à la Kol, Chalkum - a dish of pork, chicken and beef - and Paxtoo - a fish fillet wrapped in an aniseed leaf. The menu also has an interesting selection of Petén starters. Excellent address, whose intimate atmosphere lends itself to dinner.

This cozy, beautifully decorated room is famous for its tasty white fish from the Petén, which can be ordered fried or steamed. Another specialty of the house is the empenadas de tziquinché - local mushrooms. There is also an appetizing cheese board, good homemade nachos and grilled eggplant, cooked with spices, mozzarella and parmesan. Particularly attentive to the quality of its cooking, the restaurant also serves barbecued pork chops, salmon a la plancha and grilled lomito.
