CORNERSTONE SOCIAL HOUSE
Read moreThe closer you get to Victor Hugo's house, the more tired and thirsty you become. The slope is steep, so refreshment is often welcome as you approach the Holy Grail of Saint-Peter-Port. The atmosphere here is relaxed, with the usual draught beers and a mix of tourists, investment bankers and retired investment bankers. This self-proclaimed social house is decorated in a friendly, modern style. The menu is a little more elaborate than in the classic pubs. We really like it!
THE COCK AND BULL
Read moreThis pub located below Victor Hugo's house welcomes both golden boys and sailors with full beards. Here, concerts are frequent (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays in general) and the decor is very warm. One also comes for the enormous choice of English beers (some undrinkable, others excellent) rather unknown in France. And the atmosphere is really warm, whether it is in the room applauding the musicians, in the patio with a drink in the hand or around the pool table with the local young people.
THOMAS DE LA RUE
Read moreIn the heart of Saint-Pierre-Port, a stone's throw away from the tourist office, this friendly pub is one of the island's music lovers' meeting places. Here, from the small stage at the back of the room to the good quality sound system, everything is organized for the pleasure of your ears, during the musical evenings of Friday and Saturday or theopen mic of Monday. A pub which is a bit out of the ordinary where the welcome is very warm. And the beers are always fresh, starting with the Liberation Ale, the award-winning beer produced in the Channel Islands.
THE SWAN INN
Read moreThis traditional green pub, overlooking a soulless boulevard, has been awarded many times for the quality of its food, sometimes even qualified as gastronomic. One would almost forget that it is above all a pub. And a real one. English, with all the decorum and of course the beers that go with it. A warm address, held for some time by a rather young team, which also proposes all the big soccer, cricket, boxing or rugby matches on its screens. Ambiance guaranteed on weekends!
ALBION TAVERN
Read moreThe Albion Tavern is a friendly, traditional pub. You'll find a wide choice of draught beers, wines (sold by the glass or bottle) and spirits. More than the choice here, it's the configuration of the premises that's worth noting: several rooms are superimposed, each with its own atmosphere. So there's something for everyone, from sports fans (first floor left), to families (first floor right) or billiards enthusiasts who can take advantage of two tables (1st floor). A pub that's a little polymorphous...
THE QUEENS INN
Read moreIn the heart of St. Martin's parish, the newly renovated Queens Inn is undoubtedly the locals' favorite pub. Here, they meet for lunch, tea or the usual evening beer in front of the sports broadcasts on the establishment's screens. As a result, the place is very often full, summer and winter. And you can see why as soon as you walk in the door: comfortable sofa, spacious tables and a bar area separated from the other rooms. The address is very simple, but welcoming and really typical.
THE GOLDEN LION PUB
Read moreLocated in the commercial and pedestrian heart of Guernsey's capital, this long and rather trendy pub attracts the thirty-somethings of Guernsey. As far as the menu is concerned, it offers quite simply the widest choice of beers on the island (with no less than twenty drafts available at the bar), and in particular all the productions of local brewers. Lovers of beers and a nice atmosphere (especially on weekends) should be delighted. On sunny days, the atmosphere is great on the large wooden tables of the terrace.
THE TERRACE GARDEN CAFE
Read moreThis nice café is located in the open air on the roof of a building in the city center. And here is its main asset: the view on the harbor is really very appreciable, on nice days anyway. You can also take advantage of it to order a Thai dish or choose a dish on the go, between sandwiches, salads or filled potatoes. The tables are sticky, we are tight against each other, but the atmosphere is rather good for a greedy snack in the sun. A beautiful end of day in perspective!
THE DOG HOUSE
Read moreThe Doghouse is a musical pub as we like it and the promise of a great evening with music lovers and locals. Here, they program many different concerts (usually on weekends) on a stage that hosts the best music bands in Guernsey. Even though it's a bit far from downtown St. Peter Port, the Doghouse is often packed. It is also crowded on soccer and rugby match nights, which are broadcast on the screens of the establishment.
SHIP AND CROWN BAR
Read moreThis is simply one of the best pubs in the port. One of our favorites for sure! The walls are decorated with pictures of sailing boats and speedboats and it's very pleasant to lean on this big round wooden bar to choose from a very nice selection of beers. There are also sports broadcasts on the days of the big soccer or rugby matches. On the top floor, the establishment hosts a restaurant with a superb view on the boats. And on top of that, the welcome is very friendly.
CASTLE CORNET OUTDOOR THEATRE
Read moreHere's a great plan to enjoy a nice summer evening in Guernsey! Every summer in St. Peter Port, the historic Castle Cornet offers open-air cinema sessions on a giant screen. On the program, recent films and great classics of the 7th art and especially a program that will suit the whole family. To enjoy it, you can sit on the lawn or bring your own seat. A very nice evening in prospect for the cinephiles!
