HECTOR’S FISH’N’CHIPS
Read moreIf you do not know where to eat in Saint-Hélier, do not hesitate for a moment, go to this fish' chips, one of the best in town. The cuisine is very hearty and is perfectly suitable for big eaters. We love.
THE CHAMBERS
Read moreThe Chambers is one of the city's largest pubs, styled in much lighter tones than traditional pubs. With its contemporary decor and mezzanine, it's a really friendly place to enjoy burgers, pizzas, grills and salads. And it's always at the Chambers that the population is the most heterogeneous and changes throughout the day. Bands play regularly, and the island's young people come to dance the night away, often to the sound of a DJ or live band.
QUAYSIDE SEAFOOD RESTAURANT
Read moreLocated in the heart of Saint-Hélier, opposite the port in the Liberty Wharf complex, Quayside Bistro is a place for epicureans. We come here to eat well, but mostly for the view. If you're looking for a friendly setting, this is the place. The cuisine is of the highest quality and the presentation is meticulous. You can also enjoy a glass of wine or a cocktail on the upstairs terrace. An address not to be missed, very lively especially on Sunday lunchtimes.
LE MOULIN DE LECQ
Read moreHere is an old mill transformed into a pub which proposes British cooking always copious with its meats in sauce and its soups and also - proximity of the sea obliges - of many seafood. The building is charming and warm (but we prefer the large terrace nevertheless). In winter, it's a fireplace, teas and good beers. And in summer, the beautiful terrace adjoins a magnificent little park for children to enjoy the good weather. An address to come to in large numbers, with family or friends.
LE HOCQ INN
Read moreHere is a small typical English pub, transformed into a very nice and pleasant restaurant, which benefits from a very beautiful view on the coast. It proposes a rather traditional kitchen. You can taste very good pizzas, sandwiches, but also a fish pie with lobster bisque sauce and pea and parmesan purée, an omelette garnie, linguine with Jersey crabs and shrimps sautéed in white wine... After a hearty meal, the beach and the thousands of rocks are waiting for you for a digestive stroll nearby
LA FRÉGATE CAFÉ
Read moreThis café looks like an overturned boat... Impossible to miss it! This lath-covered building is isolated along the harbor. It serves excellent breakfasts (note that the café boasts the biggest scones on the island...), honest dishes during the day and a very nice menu of Thai specialties in the evening. But we will come there especially at the end of the day, at sunset time, to drink a glass of wine facing the Elizabeth Castle and the bay of Saint-Aubin. A magical moment in perspective.
CAFÉ JAC
Read moreA relaxed, but sometimes noisy, café, to know as it is located in the arts centre of Jersey (cinema, dance, theatre, exhibitions). International cuisine. Access to the Internet. An indispensable place to note immediately in your address book.
THE GRILL
Read moreThis chic restaurant is very popular with islanders and is located on the first floor of The Royal Yacht Hotel. It offers sophisticated international cuisine, with Executive Chef Inaka Weerasinghe at the helm since 2021, who brings an Australasian flair to a menu that blends local products with more exotic ingredients. The wine list is very well stocked with labels from all over the world. In short, a very good cuisine in a very sophisticated setting. You can also go there for the very nice view on the marina and the central square.
SEAFISH CAFE
Read moreLocated in Saint-Hélier's main square, this fish & chips offers hearty dishes in a very lively, modern decor, on the small terrace in the shopping mall or to take away to enjoy on a sunny day. Prices are fairly reasonable, and the dishes are quite good, prepared to order and always cooked to perfection. A good address for fish and chips, of course... but not the only one, as you can also choose from a number of excellent burgers. There's also another restaurant in the village of Saint-Aubin.
HAMPTONNE CAFE
Read moreThe small café at the (very) charming Hamptonne Museum is an excellent option for a light lunch of consistently high quality, before or after your visit. Here you'll find tapas and savoury bites, homemade sandwiches, some traditional Jersey dishes, cakes and pastries, and more. You'll be able to try them all, without breaking the bank, while sitting in the museum's very pleasant park. A great opportunity for a picnic, all in the charming setting of an old-fashioned farm. A delicious moment in prospect, with family or friends.
CHÂTEAU LA CHAIRE
Read moreIn the Rozel valley, here is the very famous gastronomic restaurant of the eponymous hotel, chic and delicious. The service is as good as the place, including during the very popular afternoon tea time. The cuisine is inspired by French and Mediterranean flavors to create a very good quality menu based on local products. It must be said that at Château La Chaire you will always find surprising and extremely well prepared dishes, in a bucolic and romantic setting
THE FARM HOUSE
Read moreWe love this authentic and pleasant address where you can eat hearty dishes after a day of walking. Among the main dishes, the meats are really good, the hamburgers very good and there are many sweet and sour side dishes. Even if it has recently changed its name, L'Auberge du Nord is one of the oldest establishments on the island which also has an adjoining pub. The reception is always attentive.
SAINT-MARY’S COUNTRY INN
Read moreIn the heart of this charming, long village, here's a pub with a very friendly atmosphere, housed in a typical Jersey inn, and serving good local specialties. The dishes are obviously hearty (chicken cordon-bleu, burgers, pies), sometimes a little more elaborate (seafood with curry and coconut milk), and above all change with the seasons. In winter, the wood fire is a welcome addition. A great little "country" address, just the way we like it.
BOHEMIA RESTAURANT
Read moreIn this Michelin-starred restaurant, the menu marvelously mixes local products and flavors from elsewhere. The menu changes according to the seasons and new arrivals. If the adventurous are tempted by the 6-course surprise menu, the risk will remain minimal as the quality and mastery are there. In short, this address with its chic and neat setting will delight gourmets. It is quite simply one of the best restaurants in Great Britain and is constantly winning awards and distinctions. And in summer the terrace is very pleasant.
SALTY DOG BAR & BISTRO
Read moreOn the port of Saint-Aubin, sheltered in a courtyard or on the terrace, you will find at the Salty Dog a world cuisine, sometimes innovative and original, which blends happily with local products. You may or may not like the decor, but what counts is what is on the plate. Here are a few successful examples to give you an idea of the cuisine offered: teriyaki sauce breaded duck salad, Indian-style spicy crab fritters, mango and coriander shrimp grilled with salsa, banana pudding and Jersey Black Butter... Charming welcome.
PIZZA EXPRESS
Read moreTired of the same old pub menu? This is one of the most popular pizza chains in the UK. Of course, we only point out this restaurant for those who would like to change a little bit by eating on the go. It is also a good address for those who would like to enjoy the beautiful view on the beach from the terrace. As for the pizzas offered, you will recognize the unavoidable ones of the genre (queen, margherita) or you will choose a more original one like the pizza with less than 600 calories. Notice to the amateurs.
THE OLD SMUGGLER’S INN
Read moreThis pub is located on the bay of Ouaisné, adjacent to the bay of Saint-Brelade and is therefore accessible by a short walk outside the village. It is housed in a 17th century building and offers a very cosy atmosphere. In winter, by the fire, you can enjoy a typical English pub cuisine: grilled fish, meat, fried brie, curry, pudding, hot apple pies... The reputation of its beers is well established, judging by the number of stickers that flood its facade and by the large number of regular customers.
OLD COURTHOUSE INN HOTEL & RESTAURANT
Read moreHere, you can choose between the chic upstairs restaurant, which replicates the interior design of a boat, or the large pub on the first floor, with its modern decor, terrace and beautiful view of the port. Special mention for the friendly welcome, the charming patio at the back and the fish and seafood. We loved the Scottish salmon fishcake with cider-braised leeks. This is a great address, but it's a good idea to make a reservation, as it gets very busy in summer.
KORU ARMS
Read moreA few meters from the beach, this pub, which changed name and owner in 2021, offers seafood specialties (mussels and French fries, shrimp) and more classic pub fare (shrimp tempura, breaded cutlets, etc.). Some meat proposals are proposed to carnivores and vegetarian options are also on the menu. To sum up, here there is really something for everyone. As its name indicates, it is located in La Pulente and offers very nice views on the bay of Saint-Ouen. An address to test!
THE SEYMOUR INN
Read moreWith two large terraces (one overlooking the sea and the other overlooking the street) and an additional one at the back on the parking lot, this nicely decorated pub offers a wide variety of beers(of course!) and seasonal dishes. It's also a great place for locally produced oysters and a great place to enjoy the sunset in the evening or a well-deserved tea time after a swim in the sea in the afternoon. On Sundays, it's simply crowded because the brunch is famous.
