Halfway between the village of Glencoe and its beautiful valley, this Hostelling Scotland hostel has a well-publicized mountain feel, with its wainscoted exterior walls. There are 48 beds in rooms and dorms, and the facilities are classic of the chain, a bit rustic, but all there. Since 2020, the hostel has been equipped with pods, the semi-circular wooden cabins typical of glamping (an improved version of camping), set out in the hostel grounds. Each pod is equipped with a double bed, a shower and a private toilet.

Situated on Ullapool Harbour, this motel has 10 rooms, all with en-suite facilities and private bathrooms, with parking available in front of the motel. Two of the rooms are accessible for PRMs and two others are family rooms. The hotel has a bar and restaurant, lounge, barbecue and picnic area and bicycle storage. The Red Squirrel is a small, simple campsite for tents, campers and caravans. Close to the Clachaig Inn, it is particularly well placed. It offers all the attractions of wild camping - simplicity, wide open spaces, beautiful scenery, peace and quiet... - with a certain comfort - showers as well as toilets are available, wi-fi, electricity. You can come with your tent, camper, caravan or horses. The campsite is also open to groups, with a reduced rate for more than 25 people, and an even lower rate for associations.

Corriegour Lodge Hotel is probably the peaceful retreat you've been looking for. Situated on one of the most beautiful sections of the Great Glen, it has a magnificent view of Loch Lochy and has its own jetty, for you to sail, as well as 9 hectares of woodland. All rooms have en suite facilities and are equipped with all modern conveniences. The living room and common areas are also particularly pleasant. As for the restaurant (open to non-residents), it has been awarded several times for its excellence.

Acheninver Hostel is not in Ullapool itself, but in the north on the Coigach Peninsula. It is surrounded by grandiose landscapes: the Highlands, but also the Ben Mor Coigach nature reserve. You will have the choice between beds in single dormitories, or whole rooms with 6 or 8 beds if you travel in a group. Warning: the access to the hostel is not passable, so it is better to bring good shoes and easily transportable luggage for the last 300 meters. Dishes and provisions can be purchased on site.
