The views from this site, located at an altitude of 250 metres, are spectacular. This place of particular beauty is now managed by the National Trust. It is a British association which aims at the defence and development of heritage. Today it owns 250,000 hectares of land, 1,200 km of sides and 300 historical monuments.

Read moreThis is where, according to legend, Merlin predicted that the Welsh Prince Vortigern would be defeated by England and then re-conquered after having a vision of a battle between two dragons.
Just across the street is the Llyn Dinas Lake, also associated with Merlin. It is said that the real throne is buried in the lake and waits for a young man to climb up on a certain rock to resurface.
Another legend claims that Excalibur was thrown there and that the Knights of the Round Table lived in an adjacent cellar. The whole, dominated by Mount Yr Aran (750 m).
