A new hotel, located on the waterfront. It has a boat for trips to the fjord and the island of Torsøy (swimming and barbecues for grilling). 46 rooms in total, almost all have a river view, on the^5th floor, rooms have a private balcony. Completely renovated in 2020. Within walking distance you will find all amenities, small shops, cafes and lanes lined with wooden houses. Their restaurant Elva Bistro offers very very good meals! A must try if you are in the area.

A traditional hotel with about 100 rooms, built in the early 20th century. A rather imposing entrance with its nice red Chesterfield sofas. Recently renovated, the rooms are quite modern, with light colours, beds you just want to stay in and all the contemporary comforts (flat screen, Internet access, large bathroom, coffee machine). Special care has been taken with the colours. The Madame Blom brasserie, with its fin de siècle atmosphere, is worth a stop if you are hungry.

Located on the port, it is an old white building from 1836, flanked by lower red buildings and separated from the hotel by a terrace. It has 31 luxury rooms. Bar and restaurant. All rooms have a flat screen TV, hair dryer, electric kettle, free internet connection, and also a very correct and copious buffet breakfast. Check-in 3pm, check-out 12pm. On request, they can keep your luggage the day of your departure if needed. Late arrivals and departures possible on request.

The largest hotel in town, located right next to the brick church in Tyholmen. The rooms are spacious, with a sitting area and a large bathroom. The restaurant offers a full dinner with fish, for example sea bass, or reindeer meat and a dessert of polar berries with whisky. The nightclub is frequented by people in their thirties and forties, and opens on weekends. Check-in from 3pm, check-out at noon. Fitness room available. Coffee at will at the hotel reception. Breakfast at the top.

A beautiful campsite in the forest, where several accommodation options are available: tent sites, wooden huts or fully equipped apartments. Located 800m south of the centre of Mandal, it is a good location by the water. Some of the apartments have just been renovated and are therefore very comfortable with brand new furniture. Very bright rooms. Free internet connection. Pets are welcome. Running water throughout the campsite and electrical outlets. Offers on the web.

The large wooden building seen today was originally two houses built by an Irish immigrant in 1837. A Dane bought them in 1873 and combined them into one building. Three years of restoration, completed in 1994, have brought the hotel back to its original appearance. The restaurant is decorated with the hotel's old furniture while other rooms are furnished with antiques. Knut Hamsun was one of the regulars and his room is still there. A superb address. The atmosphere, the history, the charm... everything is there!

Formerly Rica Hotel and Scandic Grimstad, the Clarion Collection Hotel offers quality accommodation. Housed in a charming white wood building, it offers a wide range of services, including on-site dining. Some rooms (double superior) are huge, with whirlpool baths. Special mention for the excellent, gargantuan breakfast. Special prices sometimes available online, especially for romantic weekends or long stays.

At the very end of Tyholmen, it is a luxurious hotel with 60 comfortable rooms with marble bathrooms. One stays there mainly for its geographical situation, facing the fjord. That said, the comfort is quite correct, only the atmosphere lacks authenticity. Risør Guesthouse is located in the Bossvika fjords near Risør. A view of the sea, a small beach and a jetty is what awaits you every morning. All cabins are comfortable and well equipped (wi-fi). Motorboats (max 20 hp) and kayaks are available for hire. Not bad for a week of Norwegian experience. A very good place to explore and discover the southern coast of Norway without looking for accommodation every night. 2 km from the guesthouse is a great ceramic workshop.

Holiday resort in a prime location in Norway, between Risør and Lyngør. There are many activities such as kayaking, fishing, hiking and a wide range of accommodation options to suit all budgets. Also playground, mini golf, tennis courts, barbecue area, bike rental, nearby beach, table tennis, dog shower, fitness room, boat and fishing rod rental, outdoor swimming pool, parking and even a defibrillator. There is definitely not much missing from this establishment!
