A centuries old but refurbished inn where you can enjoy local specialities in a bright winter garden. The benches are comfortable. The art of Tyrolean hospitality, with tradition and good humour, for this inn-hotel-restaurant which has been run by the same family for no less than four generations. It is possible to have only the gargantuan breakfast here! The rooms are well equipped, with television, Internet, etc. A 3-star hotel very well located to fully enjoy Kitzbühel.

At the heart of the splendid Zillertal ski region stands a building of minimalist design, adorned with large windows and resembling a dazzling block of crystal. Inside, a cosy Alpine charm preserves the warmth of a traditional refuge with gourmet menus and wine tastings. It's all spiced up with an underground vibe of jazz brunches, DJ nights under the stars and open-air vernissages. And all at an altitude of 2,147 m. It's the hip spot for seasoned skiers, gourmets and wine lovers alike.

At the Ebster family, hospitality has been handed down from generation to generation since 1852. Hannes, heir to the ^6th generation, with his son in the kitchen, reinvents the folklore of yesteryear with menus fusing traditional dishes with vegetarian options, just as tasty as the meaty version but without leaving the stomach heavy. In the dining room, warmed by the brown tones typical of Tyrolean inns, waitresses in dirndls wander around with generous plates, including the unmissable Zillertal baked liver. A must-try, no excuses.

A Tyrolean "tiroler wirtshaus" of the highest order. The restaurant has a cosy room with wooden walls, where delicious traditional Tyrolean dishes are served on solid wood tables: duck, schnitzel, cordon bleu, pastries... In summer, a large terrace allows you to eat outside. An excellent address with reasonable prices for this quality of culinary proposals. A relaxed atmosphere and a nice chic and sober decoration will make you spend a pleasant moment. Lots of local people.

Set in a beautifully painted house opposite a Baroque-style building, this restaurant still looks good after five centuries. A locker with a personal key is provided for storing clothes and bags. Under the imperial family eagle, painted in 1540, you'll find a top-of-the-range kitchen. The paintings on the first floor were created by the city's bishop, who sells his works at auction and uses the proceeds to maintain Innsbruck Cathedral.

The place is almost perfect, or almost perfect because perfection is such a useless and subjective concept. The food is excellent and the wine is good. In the historic setting of an old tower, fortification walls, massive period tables and professional service. Very picturesque, candles on the tables, an ideal place to get acquainted with the city. Reservations are highly recommended, especially on weekend nights. A little tip: remember to ask for a table near the window for even more charm!

In the center of the resort, a hostel that does everything to satisfy the customer. Typical Tyrolean decor and atmosphere, good quality food, club style conviviality. The menu is quite extensive, with carpaccios, tartars, soups, salads and much more. The tables are nicely presented. Nice wine list. A popular address for locals and holidaymakers alike. With its benches leaning against the wall, the little lights in the night, the real cloth napkins..., you feel a bit at home!

Restaurant with a sober and elegant design offering a refined Italian cuisine. Excellent fresh pasta dishes and a fine selection of wines from all over Italy.

This large inn, which has been in existence since 1950 and boasts a long, bright yellow façade, is an old-fashioned establishment in the best sense of the word, combining Austrian-style hospitality with cosy comfort. Until recently, Gasthof Schatz was best known for its Tyrolean restaurant, serving generous, calorific cuisine that appealed to the sporty clientele who travelled the surrounding mountains. It is now refocused on the hotel business. There is no longer a daily lunch menu, but the restaurant is still open in the evenings.

A rather warm restaurant with a wooden ceiling. A varied cuisine with several traditional dishes. Very good pizzas cooked on a wood fire. The arugula on some of the pizzas is very fresh, as are the vegetables. Pizzas well topped and thin dough. Many other dishes are offered: meats, fish, soups, sandwiches, polenta, bruschetta, several kinds of pasta, burgers... In short, there is something for everyone. The little extra: the children's menus which will please the bambini ! A nice address.

This beautiful ^15th-century building in the center of Matrei houses a restaurant and six rooms with molded wooden furniture. Some vaulted rooms, old ceramic stoves and hunting trophies on the walls contribute to the typical atmosphere of the place, where you can enjoy generous Tyrolean cuisine as well as some Italian specialties. A fine wine list, with an interesting choice of Austrian vintages, as well as some wines from the boot, such as Lagrein from South Tyrol. You'll feel right at home here - just don't forget to go to bed!

The former school building in Zellberg, which stands on a panoramic balcony above the Zillertal valley, has been converted into a hotel and restaurant where gourmet cuisine is served. The products of local suppliers, such as river char, cheese, meat, wild herbs and vegetables, are used to create colourful and refined dishes that follow the rhythm of the seasons. The establishment also offers 8 comfortable and well-equipped apartments, some of which also have a balcony or terrace.

A typical Tyrolean atmosphere, with waiters in traditional costumes and wooden furniture, for this restaurant which will please carnivores in particular, with an abundant supply of meat (beef, veal, lamb...) from the pastures of the Zillertal. Generous portions and efficient service. Next door, the Butcher Bar, which belongs to the same establishment, offers, in a modern setting, cocktails, wines and beer brewed by the house, to be served with or without a meat dish or an assortment of specialities.

Kostner is the cafeteria of Mayrhofen: in the morning, the sportsmen and women have a competitor's breakfast, at lunchtime they sit down to a sandwich, a salad or a schnitzel with breadcrumbs, and at snack time they enjoy an apple strudel or a large bowl of ice cream. It is also an excellent bakery, with a nice variety of breads and pastries. A large room and, above all, a large and pleasant terrace that occupies three sides of the building. A beautiful address where it is really good to spend time!

Ideally located at the beginning of the pedestrian zone and in the same building as the eponymous hotel, this chic and friendly restaurant offers delicious Schnitzels, Tafelspitz, fresh salads, herring fillets, various pastas and filet Stroganoff, prepared with seasonal and regional ingredients. Thanks to the owners' passion for hunting, game meat comes directly from their land on the Wilder Kaiser. Don't forget to make a reservation.

A traditional restaurant in one of the city's most famous landmarks (it's home to Austria's famous arch bridge - which can also be booked for a romantic dinner for two!) Great choice of Tyrolean dishes, including Käsespätzle and Spinatknödeln, and, for dessert, a delicious Kaiserschmarrn. Good wine selection. Well-presented table and plates, which don't detract from the pleasure of the eye. A restaurant that can be in demand, so remember to book a little in advance.

We climb Hendl Fischeri even without skis in winter, for the ultimate excuse to fill our gullets with this absurd but fun signature dish: The Lobster & Chicken. A plate with whole lobster and chicken served with garlic bread. And no, you're not dreaming! In addition to this never-before-seen culinary attraction, an XXL pan of Kaiserschmarrn will serve as a welcome on the doorstep. An army of waiters wearing graphic fleeces will then take over to seat you around an organically carved wooden bar.

An atypical establishment in this chic and expensive town. This well-kept white food-truck offers typical local sausages in a hot-dog bun, ideal for eating on the go after a full day's skiing where you won't necessarily have had a break, just to make the most of it! Attractive prices and plenty of choice on the menu. Sausages in all shapes and sizes, hot dog style or sliced on toast. No fries, but drinks. Even Arnold Schwarzenegger stopped in for a Wurst, so why not you?

A very good table of traditional cuisine, simple and generously served. Fresh products from the surrounding farms. Homemade dishes, some of them very inventive and successful. A menu with typical Tyrolean starters, main courses and desserts (speck, cheese, stews, etc.) but also vegetarian options. The desserts are the best way to finish the meal. We went there for the first time to try it, and we want to go back. An address as we like them, not too expensive, without fuss and especially with a delicious cuisine.

A gourmet restaurant perched at 3,048 meters above sea level with grandiose views, also famous as the magnificent filming location for the James Bond movie Spectre. Enticing, isn't it? And that's not all. Fresh, local ingredients are delivered 8 hours in advance, and everything is prepared on site in a record time of 3 hours! Simple dishes are transformed into complex creations, with a special mention for the Caesar salad and apple strudel. A nod to James Bond with a vodka martini prepared right at the table.
