We appreciate Cécile and Christine's warm welcome and, of course, the handmade chocolates made from quality products. As for specialities, the Petit Futé has a preference for pebbles and chocolate-covered marshmallows. But there are many other chocolates to discover, including a wide range of tablets in a variety of flavors, and ice creams to enjoy in summer. All without coloring or preservatives!

As you stroll along the port of Saint-Martin, you'll no doubt want to stop off at this ice cream parlour, one of the best in France. It's one of the best-known addresses among tourists. More than 60 flavors and typical ice cream textures, served in a jar with the inevitable cornet gaufrette à la fleur de sel. And if you're feeling greedy, order a one-liter box to take home your favorite ice cream. A few steps away, in a typical alleyway, you'll find another store: l'Atelier, offering a selection of frozen desserts.

Marc Bayet has two passions: the Ile de Ré and cooking. After 23 years at the helm of his own gourmet restaurant, he decided to leave Belgium and settle on the Ile de Ré. To sample one of the pies on offer, head for the small shopping area just outside town. Push open the doors of the little store. We love the warm welcome and, above all, the quality of the tarts.
