Marc Bayet has two passions: the Ile de Ré and cooking. After 23 years at the helm of his own gourmet restaurant, he decided to leave Belgium and settle on the Ile de Ré. To sample one of the pies on offer, head for the small shopping area just outside town. Push open the doors of the little store. We love the warm welcome and, above all, the quality of the tarts. Savory or sweet, they're made with the finest ingredients! Marc doesn't do surprises: his workshop is open on the counter!

Low season: open Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 2pm and 4pm to 7pm. High season: Monday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tart for 3-4 people from €19; for 8 people from €34.50.
