The best French cuisine restaurants Anjou

Just a few hundred metres from «La Loire by bike», close to the castle of Coulaine, stop for a relaxing and peaceful break… in a real garden. Traditional black wheat patties (try the Côte d'Armor), dessert pancakes, grilled ice creams, all sprinkled with best wines in the region, dishes such as the environment and reception are simple and authentic. In this walk we love nature and share this taste through organic products (for a good part), some being picked up in the garden. And if your legs tired after having pédalé (bike rental possible on site), take a good night's rest in one of the four guest rooms (3 doubles to 60 € for two people and a simple 35 € with breakfast included).

A breathtaking view of the magnificent castle, quality cuisine and a warm welcome, what more could you ask for? Depending on the season and the chef's inspiration, after amuse-bouches with foie gras crème brûlée, you can enjoy a pike-perch and smoked salmon terrine, veal kidneys with mustard flambéed with Armagnac, or Italian-style pasta. For dessert, delicious chocolate profiteroles will do the trick, unless you are tempted by a sabayon with seasonal fruits made with the Crémant of the Château de Montreuil-Bellay.

Want to eat in a castle? It is possible, on the doorstep of Angers, between countryside and city… the Château de la Perrière has several locations for lunch outside, sheltered from its walls of the seventeenth century. A small room, the Salon de Guise, also allows to appreciate the seniority of the places, with its old painted beams. On the kitchen side, several menus are offered: Mrs. de Sévigné has the best choice of ingredients (langoustine, foie gras) in prepared dishes, such as the poached bar, broth broth and safranate potato. The Perrière menu offers marinated salmon in gravlax, entry, then a roasted cum filet and Cointreau sauce. The midday formula is simple: in the entrance, a poached melon (just ripe), a beef cheek at the gratin dauphinois and a strawberry garlic with a lemon tile and chantilly, a more sought-after dessert than previous dishes. Weakness: some days we are dealing only with beginner servers who must constantly check the information in the kitchen.

Its location in an area of activity provides a quick and pleasant service. At lunchtime, many business people come to eat even if the clientele is quite varied. People appreciate the welcome and friendliness of this brewery. The rooms are large and bright and sufficiently spaced tables. The chef serves fresh fresh produce and offers simple but hearty dishes. You can enjoy canard canard with orange, a cassolette of Saint-Jacques and smoking, and beautiful salads including Caesar. Desserts are quite greedy and complete the meal. Weak point: the terrace overlooks the parking lot… Strong point: Good value for money.

Let's face it, restaurants with an unobstructed view of the Maine River are a rarity in Angers! So it was a great idea to open this place last spring, with its superb terrace where you can enjoy lunch or dinner just a few meters from the water. Chef Maxime Elan offers bistronomic-inspired French cuisine at relatively low prices at lunchtime, but higher prices in the evening. Starters include salmon gravelax, pig and duck terrine, followed by sea bream or filet mignon. Last but not least, classic desserts include crème brulée and ile flottante.

Here's an Anjou institution where you'll feel right at home! Once through the door, you'll find yourself in the warm atmosphere of a Scottish pub, with its weathered wooden rooms, friendly tables and darts. Here, you're spoilt for choice with a mouth-watering menu of tasty burgers (peat burger, cheese burger, crispy and bacon burger, vegan de toi...), with a special mention for the smash burger, as well as fish and chips, all accompanied by potatoes and a good beer please!
