Located in Socoa, this small nautical base has its feet practically in the water and is bursting with activities. Jet-skiing along the Basque coast to discover the magnificent landscapes, made up of creeks and rocks, from Hendaye to the Landes. D.E. instructors will guide you on these tours, which are suitable for everyone. If you have a coastal license, you can rent a jet-ski for a solo or duo outing. Built on an old quarry in the early 1900s and inaugurated in 1907, this hilly course between ocean and mountain is very popular. Golfers come from far and wide to pass the famous quarry, named Zarra after the days when the links were the setting for competitions between Spanish and English golfers. The 1st Open International de France was held here in the 1970s. The course is typically British with its variations. Golf de la Nivelle is a club where enthusiasts come together to share moments of conviviality.

Located in Socoa, the Tech-Océan diving center is one of the benchmarks for diving in Aquitaine. For more than 30 years, a team of instructors (who hold a State Diploma in Youth, Popular Education and Sport) has been guiding and accompanying you as you discover the underwater environment. Baptisms and training courses are available for youngsters aged 8 and over, with a quality service tailored to your needs, enabling you to enjoy diving in complete peace of mind and safety. Famous for its pepper production, Espelette also boasts a rich pastoral heritage. The farm trail invites you to explore this tradition over a 4 km loop on the Escondray plateau. Trained as an architect, Christine is an artist and designer with an eye for space. She loves color and composition, and communicates with images, etching, silkscreening and collage. Engraving is a work of patience, and a time for oneself. The work is done in stages: engraving, polishing, sanding the plate, familiarizing yourself with the tools and the material, setting the paper, and finally the press that works its magic. Come with your family, with or without children, to discover and learn the technical aspects of this ancestral art, and leave with your own creation.

Already 10 years old, the Au Creux des Cimes accrobranche is located in the heart of the trees near the Cénitz beach in Guéthary. Attendance continues to grow, with an average of 400 children per season. the site features 16 workshops and 5 zip lines. Marc, the manager, directs and supervises young and old alike, equipping them with harnesses, karabiners and other age-appropriate equipment. Each child is given an introduction to the activity so that he or she can learn the instructions. This activity, which calls on agility and motor skills, will delight the whole family!

Basque pelota is a universally played game, combining several ball games derived from the Jeu de Paume. The superb fronton in the heart of the village is still alive and well in Guéthary. One of the Federation's oldest clubs was founded here, nicknamed La Mecque du grand chistera. Olharroa has seen many great champions, the most prestigious of whom was Albert Harispe. Today, the club also plays cesta punta and paleta pelote gomme, and every year hosts numerous events, demonstrations and pelota festivals, with ever-growing numbers of players.

Between the sky, the mountains and the sea, everything here invites you to take a stroll along the paths laid out for this purpose, such as the El Cano fishermen's path, also close to the shore, where you can cycle or walk. If you're a jogger, don't hesitate to take this path... There are two ways to explore the village on foot. You'll find explanatory signs on some of the paths. These walks take less than two hours to complete, and allow you to discover part of the Basque heritage and the village of Guéthary.

This surfing institution offers a wide range of family-friendly activities in the form of Surf Camp Family, with accommodation. The program includes Surf Camp Kids and Teens for ages 9 to 14, and Surf and Golf for adults. From simple private lessons to seminar organization, on the 4 sites of the Basque Country, in Guéthary and Bidart with former French champion Christophe Reinhardt, but also in Biarritz and Hendaye. Equipment (wetsuits and surfboards) is available.

I love this hike, which can be completed in half a day. When you leave the village of Bonloc in the direction of Saint-Esteben, keep an eye on the kilometre marker: at the Saint-Esteben milestone (3.5 km), take a small road to the right. And you can stop the vehicle as the road becomes a path: after crossing a stream called Garraldako Erreka, the world is yours! This ascent takes around 2 hours and is accessible to all.

At the beginning of the Loisirs leisure base, a discovery trail leads you to the encounter of the fauna and flora of this mountain. The first step of the journey is to take up to 50 minutes, before meeting the first information panels. They will inform you about the specific aspects of this mountain, such as the presence of the pottok, the typical horse of the Basque Country, the use of kaolin, or the pastoral tradition in Baigura. After 1 p. m., you will have the choice between doing half-turn or continuing on a larger loop, which climbs up to the collar and prolongs the two-hour walk.

The mount Ursuya dominates all the Country of Hasparren; we see it above the 10 villages lying at its feet. Any walker can reach it (678 m). Start from the fronton of the Celhay and Urcuray district and ask for information because the two proposed hikes are of different difficulty and duration. Along the way, there are explanatory stones and information on the richness of the Ursuya and the pastoral activity of these places. The Club Txingudi provides training in all forms of boating and introduces people to water sports. It has over 800 members spread across the anchorages of Txingudi Bay, with 2 sections: sea fishing, sailing and all water sports. Regattas, fishing competitions and nautical rallies are organized. The professional team at PlanetOcean in Hendaye offers individual or group diving sessions from the Betiko all year round. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced diver, we offer training courses at various levels. For beginners, the DSD experience (one pool dive and one sea dive) and snorkeling trips are ideal. A showcase for Hendaye's activities, the Fête Basque is the must-attend event of a successful summer on the Basque Coast, held every year on the second weekend of August. With 12 members in 2012, the independent club Spelexpo organizes exploration raids for speleologists confirmed in three major caves of the Pyrenees-Atlantic. Especially in the Massifs and Urkulu mountains. And some members leave Laos every year for explorations in the impressive networks in the region.

In the series of gaves, rivers, torrents and streams... the Gave du Saison, the central axis of the Soule, 54 kilometres and 400 kilometres with its tributaries, from the Gave de Larrau and the Gave de Sainte-Engrâce, presents the most beautiful fishing course! Classified in 1st category, this river lends itself to all types of fishing, but mainly to fly fishing or fishing with the toc; the trout are very "biting" from April, wild, called fario! In the Iraty forest, there's a whole network of signposted snowshoeing itineraries for you to enjoy in winter, weather permitting - snow conditions being unpredictable - with 4 trails ranging from 3 to 13 km, for exploring and admiring this exceptional site; a paradise for solo, duo or family outings! There's also a toboggan run opposite the reception area, where you'll find all the information you need to rent snowshoeing and tobogganing equipment.

The Pic d'Orhy dominates the village of Larrau and is the highest peak (2,017 m) in the Basque Country, west of the Pyrenees, on the Franco-Spanish border. Like many other peaks, it lives on in the legends told by the Souletin, Oyenhart, in the days when birds... spoke. A high-mountain territory to be explored only in fine weather, to take full advantage of the panoramic views from the summit. Hikes for young and old, with no great difficulty apart from a small rocky bar to cross. A must during your stay in Soule.

The reconstructed Piémont Pyrénéen route (GR-78) started from Carcassonne and reached Lourdes, St-Jean-Pied-de-Port (last stop before the border) before crossing the mountains to arrive at Roncesvalles. It links the Mediterranean with the Atlantic, and offers a rich heritage. This hike, often on hilltops, offers splendid panoramic views of the Pyrenees chain as it crosses the département. With a total distance of 594 km, the maximum altitude is 1,179 m, with a cumulative difference in altitude of 13,717 m.

It gives you the opportunity to ride down Mount Baigura (897 m) to the Baigura leisure center, in a classic or more sporty way (from age 14).

Eugène Ondars, a state-certified guide approved by Jeunesse et Sport, offers a variety of itineraries for unforgettable hikes. With his in-depth knowledge of the Basque mountains, he can guide you on 3- to 7-day tours, including bivouacs, through places such as Hendaye, Ossès, Roncevaux and the Saison valley. In addition, 2-hour rides for beginners and day excursions on horseback are also on the program.

Every first Wednesday of the month, the 45 members of the club meet to decide on their next outings, especially in the Pyrenees-Atlantic. The Leize Pelayo club practice as much as caving, hiking and climbing.
