It boasts 25 spacious, elegant and arty rooms. The rooms are decorated with magnificent paintings and feature beautiful bathrooms. Some have a view of the famous Monkey Temple. Meals are served on the beautiful open-air patio, and we recommend the succulent dal bhat. On-site: fitness room, morning and evening yoga classes (free for guests) and art gallery.

Ideally located in the Thamel district, away from the hustle and bustle of the bars, this hotel has 35 clean, bright rooms with lovely parquet floors. All are equipped with air conditioning and wifi connection. You can eat on the roof terrace, but if you wish to change from the Nepalese cuisine, you can opt for a steak at the Kathmandu Steak House, located a few blocks away and run by the same family.

This comfortable establishment offers fifty rooms of character, sober and well-kept, with a Tibetan decor that varies between modern and classic. KANTIPUR TEMPLE HOUSE
Read moreOne of the most beautiful addresses in Thamel. This beautiful boutique hotel seduces by its location, at the end of a quiet alley, but especially by its Newar style architecture. Born out of the desire to preserve traditional Nepalese architecture, the establishment puts the art of woodcarving to the forefront, from the façade and corridors of the imposing red brick building to the rooms, entirely decorated with local handicrafts. Special mention for the hotel's committed eco-friendly policy and for its beautiful courtyard.
YAK & YETI HOTEL
Read moreThis is undoubtedly one of the most famous addresses in Kathmandu, largely because the first owner of the place was none other than Boris Lissanevitch, the pioneer of tourism in Nepal. Yack & Yeti is different in that it offers the stars of a luxury establishment and a sophisticated décor: on the one hand, the standard rooms in Newar style, and on the other, the deluxe rooms in Tibetan style. Tennis courts, business center, garden and swimming pool. Excellent service as one would expect in this type of establishment.
THAMEL ECO RESORT
Read moreVery central, this hotel is located right in the heart of Thamel, a stone's throw from all the restaurants, bars and other entertainment in the area. The building, with its traditional architecture, is built around a patio and a pretty garden lined with a green lawn. It's a really pleasant feature of this eco-hotel. As for the 42 rooms, 19 are located in the new building and 23 in the old one. Prices are still very affordable, yet the rooms offer a high level of comfort. The restaurant serves a selection of Indian, continental and Chinese dishes.

Everywhere, the know-how of local craftsmen is showcased: hand-embroidered Tibetan carpets, tangkha paintings and custom-made furniture. Located close to the main embassies, it is the only hotel to offer a rooftop swimming pool with stunning views of Kathmandu. On a clear day you can even see Bakhtapur! The hotel also houses a spa and restaurant. Very good coffee on the terrace behind the hotel
HÔTEL UTSE
Read moreThis Tibetan hotel offers 52 well-kept and clean rooms, all equipped with a fan or air conditioning and Wi-Fi. Some are darker than others, ask to visit if possible. The service is serious, without being exceptional. The hotel also offers a tour desk, as well as free on-site parking, if you feel like driving in Kathmandu . A rooftop restaurant with a pleasant terrace serves Nepali, Indian and continental dishes. A comfortable hotel with good value for money.
KATHMANDU GARDEN HOUSE
Read moreOne of the friendliest addresses in Thamel. This small haven of peace is run by Yves, a native Breton and his wife Sangita, both surrounded by a smiling team. No wonder the address has its regular customers. A large nicely planted garden and good breakfasts served on the terrace overlooking the Swayambunath temple complete the picture. The sober and clean rooms are distributed in two buildings located one behind the other. All have an adjoining bathroom. We like it.
