Making the fame of the bastide of Sainte-Foy-la-Grande, the weekly Saturday morning market was elected "Favorite Market of the French" in 2014. Very dynamic and lively, friendly, welcoming and authentic, it is one of the 100 Exceptional Markets of France! Note that a small market of local producers is held every morning on the town hall square. In July and August, on Thursdays, the François Mitterrand terrace comes alive with the colors of a Marché de Producteur de Pays®.

During the summer period, of course, it is more pleasant, but this open-air market takes place all year round on the square of the station of Gujan-Mestras. Here, about forty itinerant traders are present to make discover quality products. This market allows to privilege the contact between the producers and the consumers. It is always appreciated by the Gujanese as well as the tourists and visitors of passage. Leave your car on the parking lot (allée René Fourgs) and take the free shuttle to get there.

The traditional Peyrehohade market has been held on Wednesday mornings since 1358. It's the oldest market in the Landes! Over a hundred local producers, shopkeepers, craftsmen and other hawkers set up their stalls from Place du Sablot to Place Aristide Briand. Start or finish with a pig's trotter tasting in one of the restaurants open early that day. There's also a small food market under the Halles on Saturday mornings, a Wednesday morning "marché au gras" from October to March, and a Gascon day on the Wednesday before the summer holidays.

On Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays, the bastide town of Libourne comes alive to the rhythm of the open-air market. From 8am to 12:30pm, traders take over the pretty Place Abel Surchamp and adjacent streets. Particularly popular with the Bordelais, the Sunday market is still the biggest and liveliest. The Halle de Libourne, adjacent to the open-air market, is temporarily closed due to a fire on the night of September 2, 2023. As the seasons go by, other markets and events take place in the heart of Libourne.

In 1755, the Intendant de Tourny decided to establish a branch of the Grand-Marché on the Place du Parlement. It was named the Royal Market. It was then moved to the Quai des Salinières and finally moved to the Place Saint-Michel in 1960. Today, some 160 traders are spread out on the Place du Bourg and on the Quai des Salinières, offering mainly foodstuffs, but also various items for the home, cosmetics, shoes and clothing. Ideal to buy in quantity, because there are often interesting offers.

You might think that the Chartrons covered market is actually on the market square, sheltered under the metal and glass hall, but no. To find it, you have to go to the rue Sicard. Seven professionals who select the best of our land (fishmonger, vegetable seller, cheesemonger, delicatessen, oyster merchant, wine merchant and a butcher) welcome customers who come to look for fresh and quality products in a friendly atmosphere. Another market of the Chartrons is held in the open air on the quays on Sunday.

La P'tite Halle is a... small shop selling fresh produce, fruit and vegetables, hygiene products, local and organic produce, groceries and a fine selection of wines. In Arès, La P'tite Halle is located in the town center (there's a parking lot right in front). But it's also in Lège, on the route du Grand Crohot. All year round, locals go there to stock up on good things, and in summer, they rub shoulders with tourists who don't hesitate to put together their picnic baskets before heading off to the beaches.

The annual Soulac Gastronomic Fair takes place around August 14th and 15th in Place Aliénor d'Aquitaine. In a friendly, family atmosphere, artisans, winemakers and producers come together to offer visitors all the local produce of the Médoc, as well as Aquitaine specialities: wines, spirits, liqueurs, foies gras, charcuterie and other regional products... The appointment of the Teichois takes place on Saturday morning from 7:30 am until 1:30 pm, place du Souvenir, in the city center, between the church and the town hall. Hossegor's traditional market is held in the town center near Les Halles: Wednesdays and Fridays from mid-June to the end of September, and Sundays (until November). The easiest way to find out is to ask at the Tourist Office, or at the reception of your hotel or campsite. They can also tell you about special markets such as Easter, Ascension and Whitsun. Since 2022, the evening craft market has been held on Sundays in July and August. The farmers' market is held in Soorts on Saturday mornings.

Bayonne's Halles centrales have been in existence for over 150 years.
