Historical Shows Sound and Light Lorraine

Created in 1995, the Odyssey Company and its 300 volunteers offer early August their theatrical performances in the gardens of the rectory. The scenario is directly based on regional history and real events. In 2017, it was a operetta of Louis Varney, Les Musketeers in the Convent, which was adapted by Claire Arthur. Often overshadowed by other battles with more familiar names, the Battle of Vaux-Marie nevertheless played an important role in the retreat of German troops. As the village of Rembercourt was in the path of German troops seeking to encircle Verdun, deadly fighting took place there, leaving the French battalions victorious but very weakened.
