The Saint-Barthélémy valley holds the title, shared with Cogne, of regional cross-country skiing capital. In total, the area offers three blue trails (from 3.5 to 9 km), six red trails (from 11 to 19.5 km) and one black trail (30 km). The trails start in the village of Porliod and run for dozens of kilometers in an absolutely magnificent environment of dense fir forests alternating with expanses of alpine pastures, for a total and soothing immersion in the mountains. The rather high average altitude (approx. 2,000 m) ensures excellent snow cover throughout the winter season, despite the south-facing aspect and sunny location. Nine different trails of all levels of difficulty, ranging in length from 3 to 30 km, wind their way up and down the high Saint-Barthélémy valley, passing by some fifteen alpine chalets, crossing dozens of streams and always staying well away from any inhabited area - a truly enchanting adventure in communion with nature, so rare and appreciated. The resort's "mythical" trail is the Gran Tor, the only black trail, which runs from Praz de l'Arp all the way to Alpe Ollière after a long, thirty-kilometer loop on the other side of the valley. The cross-country foyer has all the services skiers need (rental, bar, restaurant, toilets...) and there's even an alpine refuge on the slopes.

In the heart of the Parc Fluvial, not far from the center of Cuneo, a canoeing and kayaking center offers courses and trips along the two rivers, open to everyone aged 5 and over. Alone in your canoe or with others, you'll have a great time enjoying the pleasures of the water. There are also sports fields nearby. Refreshments and snacks are available in the same place, so you can keep your strength up (or replenish it afterwards), especially for older children, with top-quality craft beers...

Managed with passion by Chiara, Mauro, Marco and their team of certified instructors, the company Giro in Mongolfiera offers a breathtaking experience to admire the landscapes of the Langhe and southern Piedmont from the heights, either at dawn or at the romantic hour of sunset. Pioneer in this field and the most famous in Piedmont, this company also offers to combine the flight with a generous tasting of local products before leaving to recover from your emotions, or rather to continue them, but in a different way...

This adventure park is for families of course! But also for groups of friends looking for entertainment. In the middle of the pine forest, there is no better setting to set up a treetop adventure course. The part dedicated to games for the little ones is particularly successful. There are several adult courses, some of them at very high altitude, with a long zip line, thrills guaranteed! Good for spending half a day doing activities. The team is very friendly and available and adapts the course to the children's level.

There is a jet-ski school and rentals.

Pian del Frais is the small mountain hamlet above Chiomonte. It became a south-facing ski resort in the early 1930s. It lies at an altitude of 1,500 m, in a basin where the eight slopes, forming a total of 25 km of skiable terrain, converge. It is a particularly suitable resort for beginners, families, school groups or ski clubs. To reach the resort, in summer and winter, a chairlift leaves from the centre of Chiomonte and climbs some 700 metres in about 10-15 minutes.

Why not take advantage of your holidays to discover this sport or to improve yourself a little? The lake's golf course is one of the oldest in Europe and celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2007. It is an 18-hole golf course with a beautiful view of the lake. It is a very British looking club house with the most impressive library of golf literature in Italy. Who knows, you might be lucky enough to bump into George Clooney on the green, since it is indeed Mr Nespresso's club! And the best part: the good restaurant on site.

This impressive complex, all glass on the outside, has an Olympic-sized ice rink. In addition to figure skating shows and ice hockey games, you can also try your hand at sliding on the ice. The ice rink is open to the public and skates can be rented. Instructors are available for novices. Curling is also practised here. A good idea for an outing with family or friends on days of heavy snowfall.

In addition to the traditional on-piste alpine skiing lessons for all levels and snowboarding, experienced guides can take you on exceptional off-piste skiing, snowshoeing or ski touring trips. In a panorama like the Dolomites, you can embark on this kind of expedition to take your eyes off the slopes. And a guide is essential to explore these summits. In the summer, you can experiment with vias ferratas or climbing, again technical sports that require equipment. They are versatile!

All year round, this complex offers fun, sports and all-terrain activities. Inside the adventure park, a plethora of entertainments (notably the tree climbing course) awaits the tourists according to their age and level. In the summer, the staff also offers outdoor activities, hydrospeed, rafting and canyoning experiences to enjoy a rhythmic vacation down the Bòite, the Cortina river. Wetsuits are provided. In winter, it is possible to practice off-piste skiing with an instructor.

This association of alpine guides has 25 alpine guides and 3 mid-mountain guides. On their website you can book a visit and discover the team. She, or her colleagues, will propose you a program adapted to the many possibilities: via ferrata, but also hiking, climbing, ice climbing, snowshoeing, skiing. This is the ideal way to discover the best of the Dolomites in complete safety and to rent the right equipment.

An outdoor ice rink, located in the small town of Tai di Cadore, to gently slide to the snow-capped peaks.

The oldest and most famous craft school of wood engraving in the Susa Valley and the Maurienne Valley. The Scuola di Intaglio del Melezet aims to continue the tradition of woodworking, present here since the mid-16th century. You can attend a craftsmen's work session, or even take classes two evenings a week (both by reservation). The works created here are really splendid!

This ski and snowboard school offers lessons for adults and children (from 4 years old), in individual or group versions. For adults: off-piste skiing, freestyle skiing and snowboarding lessons. All of the school's instructors speak French, which will make it easier for the youngest children to learn the techniques specific to snow sports, especially in a beautiful alpine environment, in a domain that has more than 400 km of slopes. A ski and snowboard school that offers lessons for children and adults of all levels at attractive prices. Intensive courses are possible during a weekend or a week to learn the basics of skiing or to perfect your technique in a magnificent environment and in the company of mountain professionals, in complete safety. A riding club that offers many activities, from simple riding lessons to pony trekking for the little ones, but above all trekking for one or more days for the more experienced riders (including overnight stays) in breathtaking mountain landscapes. Courses and courses for riders of all levels. All activities are, of course, supervised by professional instructors. During the winter season, introduction to snow riding (from 14 years old).

The Bardonecchia golf course, located at Pian del Colle, offers a 9-hole, 980 m course with driving range. The setting is splendid, surrounded by mountains, and particularly relaxing. The peace and quiet make you feel like you're on vacation. Sports competitions in July and August. The complex has a clubhouse. You can also take lessons to learn golf or perfect your technique. Younger players (6-14 years) can take part in week-long courses, alternating between lessons and free practice.
