Originally from Chicago, Intelligentsia is a concept store that combines organic coffee and fair trade in a very modern design, attracting a rather trendy - even elitist - clientele. Above all, it is one of the first establishments in the Third Wave of Coffee movement: you can drink some of the best coffee in Los Angeles. Moreover, don't forget the pastries and pastries, which you can enjoy on the terrace.

Born in 1989 from the meeting of the couple Jilla and Shallom Berkman with a Peruvian farmer passionate about coffee, this house now has establishments in all Los Angeles and its surroundings: Beverly Hills, Melrose, Santa Monica, Pasadena, Laguna Beach, Orange... Opened in October 2023, this friendly café with its impeccable aesthetics and music is the perfect place to start your day. Don't forget the pancakes: they're without doubt the best we've tasted on our trip. Very fragrant, cooked with a little extra "je ne sais quoi"... We loved them! You'll also find a number of pastries - chocolate croissant, blueberry muffin, chocolate cookie and vegan spice tea cake - salads and sandwiches, which you can order all day long.

In the heart of Hollywoodland, Beachwood Cafe boasts a cosy interior, with patterned wallpaper and wooden tables. From salads and sandwiches to pizzas and meat and fish dishes, the place is perfect for lunch. Nevertheless, we recommend it for a sweet break in the afternoon. You'll understand why when you see the tempting array of cakes on display... Fruit tarts, carrot cake, brownies, peanut butter cookies and, above all, mouth-watering cheesecakes. A real treat!

If you're staying in Ocean Beach, love good artisan coffee and travel while working, OB Beans Coffee Roasters is for you! Apart from the customers who come in to take their cups to go, you'll mainly come across digital nomads. It has to be said that the music, soft enough not to interfere with concentration or a call, the large, high tables that offer a degree of tranquillity, the numerous sockets and the good Wi-Fi connection are all parameters conducive to home office. Bonus: delicious acai bowls.

Opened in 2012, this excellent coffee shop is based on one principle: coffee roasting is a craft in its own right, not to be taken lightly. Mothership Coffee Roasters specializes in single-origin beans, i.e. those grown in a single geographical area. The result is a delicious beverage available in a variety of forms. In addition, several pastries and cakes are prepared daily in the bakery.

This spacious warehouse has been refurbished into a cool place: today, it's a trendy address, popular with digital nomads... Despite the lack of plugs. Inspired by his grandfather's passion for coffee, Sebastian Ramirez opened the establishment with his wife, Nikki. Every year, they travel to Colombia to refine their selection of beans. Their motto: "our family harvest in your cup". The promise of a tasty coffee, topped off with a few delicacies.

This cozy coffee-shop is the ideal place to take a break while strolling through the friendly Roosevelt Row Arts District. You'll find comfortable sofas, cosy decor and, above all, excellent coffee, with beans from Tempe-based roaster Cortez Coffee Roasters. While there aren't many dining options, the scones, cookies and homemade muffins are a perfect accompaniment to the drinks.

This small, healthy chain has a particularly rich selection of coffees of all kinds, from cappuccino to Soulmate, a blend of espresso, chocolate and caramel. There are also numerous options for tea lovers. There's also a modest brunch menu, featuring avocado toast, croque-madame, burrito and gluten-free quiche. Finally, let's mention the few desserts, such as the brownie cheesecake and the peanut butter and chocolate chip cookie. A real treat!
