With the visit of the volcano and the sunset, the Kamari open-air cinema is one of the must-see in Santorini. The session is sometimes disturbed by the passage of a plane (we are almost at the end of the runway of the airport), but we come here especially for the atmosphere. Recent films in English (with Greek subtitles), ice cream, drinks and popcorn. Be careful, when the session ends, the bus service between Kamari and Thira doesn't work anymore. Remember to book a taxi!

The Apollo Theatre, also known as the "Piccola Scala", is the jewel of the cultural life of Syros and more broadly of the Cyclades. Opened in 1864 to the plans of an Italian architect inspired by the Milan Opera House, the Apollo offers a quality programme of opera, concerts and dramatic theatre. The theatre was closed for renovation for many years. Since its reopening in 2000, it has been a pillar of cultural life on the islands. Feel free to take a seat to see a show in the tense red velvet room.

Nestled in a small square away from the crowd, here is a pearl not to be missed. The Manto Cinema is first and foremost an open-air cinema that shows films in OV every night during the season. The program is wide, but it mainly includes major international releases. In addition to this very pleasant cinema, you can come during the day to enjoy the totally unexpected Olympic peace and quiet that reigns in the pretty adjoining café. Located in a large garden, in the shade of majestic trees, the café serves snacks all day long.

There are two addresses for this mythical cinema in Kos-ville: the address on Elefterias Square is a classic cinema, as we know it here, while the address on Fenaretis is what we call a summer cinema in Greece. It is an open-air cinema that plays all the international films of the moment in the original version with subtitles (in Greek of course). You can have a drink at the small bar to quietly sip wine or a beer under the stars, enjoying the big screen and the freshness of a summer night.

In a beautiful building dating from 1650, there is a theatre for 250 people. From June to September, apart from theatrical performances, there are also photo and painting exhibitions, jazz and classical music concerts. Dance and music workshops are also held on stage during the season. And on the terrace, under the thick shade of the hundred-year-old olive trees, a wooden terrace offers yoga-fitness classes in the late afternoon, in season. Finally, a bistro is also hidden in this cultural centre which is worth a visit!

The Reggae Vibes music festival took place for the first time in 2007 on the beach of Almyros. Since then, it has been a unique institution and musical event for fans of reggae and dub music, not only in Crete, but also in the rest of Greece. It takes place every year uniting many world famous bands. With a growing success, the festival contributes, in its own way, to the cultural and touristic development of the Lassithi region.

We love the jazzy atmosphere of this piano-bar with a refined Venetian setting, which we will find because it seems almost hidden in an alley of the Topanas district. Concerts are regularly organized there, but even on evenings without music, one likes to come there to sip a good cocktail in a hushed atmosphere. The few tables on the terrace are often occupied by the trendy youth of Hania and the animation continues until late at night. It's an opportunity to mingle with the local and contemporary life, far from the tourist clichés.

The films are always in their original version in Greece: very often in English, but good French films are also on the programme. The cinemas of V. Kornaros are ultra-modern, with a special interior design reminiscent of the years of silent cinema. The cinemas host several cultural events.
