Read moreIf you are not tempted by the days at sea, organized by excursionists, you can take the taxi-boat option. On the taxi-boat Bura, a father and son work together. On the quayside, near the Falkensteiner Hotel Park, their small boat makes the rotation with the islet of Košljun. The crossing lasts about 15 minutes, until you reach the secure pier in front of the monastery's ticket office. You agree with them on the time you want to return to Punat. Same service for the port of Krk.

The departureruns all year round between the port of Rab and the port of Tovarnele (Lun), on the northern part of the island of Pag. The boat carries passengers and bicycles only. No cars or motorised two-wheelers. The rate of weekly rotations increases in the summer season, and the boats can quickly be full. The return trips can also be disrupted if the weather is bad, but this is rare in summer.

One to two daily buses in tourist season to Dubrovnik, one bus to Zagreb via Split. Several buses a day to Vela Luka pass by the inland road to serve the villages of Žrnovo, Pupnat, Čara, Smokvica and Blato. A bus almost every hour during the day to Lumbarda and a few buses a day to Račišće and Kneža.

From early June to late September, the Jadrolinija runs from Vela Luka to Lastovo, Hvar and Split several times a week. For Split, Brač and Hvar, it's even several times a day. Book your tickets in advance. A catamaran to Split also departs from Dominče.

Read moreOn the island of Mljet, there is a bus service, but the runs are not frequent and there are only two lines (Saplunara-Sobra and Pomena-Sobra). So, for those who are not motorized, it is useful to have the contact of this good collective cab service, both for long and short distances, such as getting from Polače to Pomena or Sobra for the ferry. Read moreThe national ferry company Jadrolinija charters a ferry from Prapratno (Pelješac) to Sobra in all seasons. The trip takes 45 minutes, and it is possible to take your car with you. There are several ferries per day. Please note that in the summer, the number of available places for cars on Croatian ferries may be limited due to the large number of tourists. It is not possible to reserve a seat in advance, so you must arrive well in advance at the boarding point. If you miss the last ferry, you will have to stay on the island.
