The festivities kick off on Ascension weekend with "La Déferlante de Printemps", and return in July and August with "La Déferlante d'Été", in 11 seaside resorts along the Loire-Atlantique and Vendée coasts, Saint-Brévin-les-Pins, Pornic, Barbâtre, Noirmoutier-en-l'Île, Notre-Dame-de-Monts, Saint-Jean-de-Monts, Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez, Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie, Brétignolles-sur-Mer, Les Sables-d'Olonne and La Tranche-sur-Mer. An original cultural and artistic program, and most importantly, free of charge.

Read moreEvery August, the Port de Morin Festival takes place in the village of L'Épine on the island of Noirmoutier. Organized by the Association du Port de Morin, the event features a variety of activities starting at 3 p.m., with numerous free stands, a meal under marquees, musical entertainment in other marquees, including sea chanteys, free games for children, sea walks and, in the evening, a free dance with live band and fireworks courtesy of the municipality.
