Of the castle of Anet only some ruins of the century remain, which became the property of the dukes of Vendôme.
The estate used to include a feudal fortress, built in the 12th century. It was demolished by King Charles V, following the uprising of Charles the Bad. In the seventeenth century, the castle became the property of the Dukes of Vendome, who made major changes: the staircase of honor by Claude Desgots and the government pavilion. The Duchess of Maine resided there, followed by the Duke of Penthièvre. From 1894, restorations were undertaken to give it back its former sumptuousness. Only a few ruins remain from that time.
