In 1951, in the centenary of Jean Baffier's birth, Louis Edmond-Jean Mézerette had gathered and exhibited thanks to the help of the nephews of the artist, friends and regional officials, many works of all kinds of the artist. Over the years, this collection was enriched and the idea of creating a permanent place germ. In 2001, during the 150 th anniversary, the extent of the exhibition was indeed more varied and important. To date, the idea of creating a museum is doing its very best, thanks in particular to G. Jamet, president of the Jean Baffier Arts Center, but it would take a strong motivation to achieve at least in 2020, for the centenary of the character's disappearance. Its somewhat monumental sculptures are for some in Paris, the Galliera Museum, the Petit Palais and the Musée d 'Orsay. Nevers, Bourges, Charleville-Mézières and Vizille are also honored to possess some of them. This, his reactionary and xenophobic words and writings serve him. But we must not forget that he was very active in developing the peasant world.
