The Maison des Sancerre, an enchanted gateway to the vineyards and the secrets of winemaking.
The Maison des Sancerre, a superb building built in the 15th century to house the town's thermal baths, was successively occupied by a cooper, a religious association, the sub-prefecture and a school. Since 2005, it is the remarkable site to discover the vineyards of Sancerre with 350 m² of a scenography imagined by the winegrowers of the appellation. A beautiful gateway to the vineyard and behind the scenes of the winemaking process with games, workshops and tastings. Children are not forgotten, especially in the aroma garden.

Just a stone's throw from the church in the heart of the historic village of Sancerre, named one of the most beautiful villages in France, the Maison des Sancerre takes visitors on a journey to the heart of the terroir to understand the Sancerre appellation, and welcomes them from April to November to discover the finest experiences to be had among the vines.
A veritable link between winegrowers and visitors, the site offers a fun and imaginative way to discover the wines of Sancerre.
The Maison des Sancerre is designed to welcome a wide range of visitors, and offers fun activities for young and old, adapted to your level of wine knowledge. There's an interactive museum, an aroma garden, a magnificent terrace overlooking the vines where you can taste a whole range of wines representing the diversity of terroirs and vintages; and last but not least, a superb bookshop and wine store where you can perfect your knowledge or treat yourself to some carefully selected products based on their environmental commitment, local ceramics and other souvenir items.
During the summer months, numerous activities are on offer, including wine-tourism events, wine fairs, aperitifs among the vines (Les Vindredis), and the famous Trail de Sancerre.
