It is often like that, the elders started with a small area and the family succession continued, expanding the business. In 1945, Marcel Gitton, alone, founded what would later become Vignobles Gitton Père & Fils with a half hectare of vines. The vineyards now cover 33 hectares, spread over the best climates of the region, whose diversified soils produce grapes rich in colour and flavour in the communes of Sancerre and Ménétréol. A notoriety acquired thanks to a beautiful work which is perpetuated since, because this vineyard produces seriously worked white wines. The manual harvest is often used, especially as some plots of land are less than a hectare in size. This is the case for the Sancerre Galinot, whose bottles are numbered, and the Sancerre Les Herses, which is aged for nine to ten months in half-full oak barrels for two to three years. On the red side, the Sancerre Les Romains is vinified and matured in stainless steel vats, as is the eponymous rosé, both made from pinot noir grapes.

Pouilly" is also found on the other side of the Loire, where the sedimentary waters of the "lancinant sauvage" allow for unique vinicultural births, in other words, those whose palate - first teased by the vaporous odoriferous escapes offered by the appropriate nose - cheerfully exercises its appreciation of the Smoke, delighted to take on the challenge, because before the eventual intoxication, there is the tipping point towards beautiful promises, as much aesthetic as gustative.
