Because of its clay terrain, Culan was a town renowned for its tiles in the th century and housed several tuileries. The last one ceased to operate in 1950. The building recalls this artisanal activity in Culan, and arouses a lot of curiosity. One of the furnaces used for cooking brick and tiles, dating back to 1913, was restored in 1986 at the initiative of the municipality.
