Young AOC from the Loire Center - since 2010 - Châteaumeillant is experiencing a turning point in its history. Blind tastings speak for themselves, proof that the appellation no longer has to suffer from its past shortcomings. Bituriges Vins brings together 11 producers who have joined together to combine technical means, but each produces its own wine. The wine cellar sells 50% of the wines of Châteaumeillant, 2 000 hl and has just launched the first French agri-ethical wine. Daniel Nairaud, passionate viticulturist, created the 18/20 cuvée (a good note that goes without saying but also a wink in the Department of Cher), a fairer agri-ethical wine for the vine grower, the consumer and more respectful of the earth. His robe "pertrix eye" is brilliant. White fruit flavorings are noted: vine and apricot fishing. This very elegant gray wine fits perfectly with summer dishes, salads, fish and the world's cuisines. Also discover the other wines: «Reflection of the 7 fonts», a gold medalist in 2012 and «Clos La Goutte Noir», a silver medalist in the Paris competition. A tasting is necessary!

In the south of the department, in a region called Boischaut-Sud, the vines of the Geoffrenet-Morval estate are distinguished by the combination of sandy-silty red soils, from which delicate red wines are produced, and less silty soils, for aromatic rosés. The two grape varieties produced here are 70% Gamay and 30% Pinot Noir. Since the purchase of a 46 ares parcel in 2000, the estate has grown considerably and has now reached 10 ha. The estate produces 4 cuvées using sustainable agriculture: the Comte de Barcelone rosé, the cuvée Version Originale rouge, the cuvée Extra Version rouge and the cuvée Jeanne Vieilles Vignes rouge. Since 2014 it belongs to the Joseph Mellot wine group.

Winemakers for four generations the Refinat family operates a 12 hectare estate where tradition is preserved. Jeannine Refinat and his sons work in ten hectares of property. Their vineyard of Châteaumeillant is planted in gamay grape to 30% and pinot to 70%. The fruit of their red wine is perfectly expressed on meats. Their gray wine, glory of Berrichon land, will seduce you, its aromas of vine peaches, sweet, exude the flavor of fish and seafood. As for their white wine, it is perfect to accompany cocktails.
