A great figure in the Ploërmel sector, Dr Guérin (1816-1895) was also a great figure for France, since he was the inventor of the padded dressing. Originally from Ploërmel, in love with Brocéliande and a rich heiress whom he could not marry until late in his life, he asked that his burial be placed in a plot that he particularly loved.
