THE FOUNTAINS

There are no less than twenty fountains and washhouses in the commune. Until the last war, some of these water points were still used as drinking water reservoirs, wash houses or watering holes. At weekends, they were used as places of pilgrimage, walks and meetings. The main spring of Larmor-Plage, Notre-Dame-de-la-Clarté, was considered the only source of healing water. People used to throw coins into it to recover their sight and hope. From now on, we are working on restoring and transforming these buildings and developing the paths to access them
