Ecomuseum that tells the social history of the forges of Hennebont, whose rooms present the techniques of the time.

This ecomuseum tells the social history of the forges of Hennebont. It all began in 1860 with the Trottier brothers who set up their ironworks. The forges were then bought by the Société Générale des Cirages Français and reached their peak in 1936, employing up to 3,000 people. They finally closed in 1966. The rooms of the eco-museum present the techniques of the time, the traditions and the working life of the metal workers in the 19th and 20th centuries. The models, photos and films will take you to the heart of history.

Morceau d histoire de la région à découvrir. Le musée n est pas très grand mais l accueil y est très sympathique et les documents exposés très intéressants. Les 2 films proposés sont passionnants même pour des ados!!!! En gros, on découvre un monde du travail qu on n imaginait pas.....

Musée très intéressant, notamment avec les maquettes qui expliquent mieux le travail des forges. Et le second étage rend tous ces ouvriers plus "vivants", proches de nos familles

Dommage que l'extérieur cache un musée d'une richesse aussi exceptionnel le une superbe muséographie allez y !!!! Et prévoyez du temps car les textes sont révélateurs des traitements infligés aux ouvriers par la classe dominante ?!!
