L'ÎLE DE SAINT CADO
Charming, photogenic village known for its small stone houses with blue shutters, its calvary and fountain
She's the star of the Ria postcards. It's this little stone house with blue shutters, known as Maison Nichtarguer (in Breton "En Istra ar Guer" means the oyster house), named after the tiny islet on which it sits opposite the village of Saint-Cado. Once you've admired it, walk across the legendary stone bridge to this charming, photogenic village. You'll see small fishermen's cottages, a calvary, a fountain and the famous Romanesque chapel (12th century) dedicated to the monk Saint-Cado.
