DUFAYARD FRANCOISE
Françoise Dufayard is a renowned ceramist based in Rennes, Brittany. Since 1988, she has been creating a warm collection of pottery for everyday use in her studio. Her work is characterized by large, square dishes, reminiscent of a painter's work. She uses a glazed clay technique with engobe decoration on raw clay under a transparent glaze, giving her creations a luminosity and depth reminiscent of Far Eastern lacquers. Her style is influenced by her travels in Asia, where she studied traditional and contemporary ceramics. She has participated in numerous exhibitions abroad and has given Master-Classes in India and the UK. Her work can be found in private and public collections, including those of the Musée National de Céramique de Sèvres in France and the University of Wales in the UK.
