L'EMAILLERIE
Read moreThis recently opened ceramics café offers a new concept: come and paint your own ceramic piece, choosing from mugs, plates, vases, dishes, butter dishes, carafes... in a warm and inspiring setting where you can also enjoy a coffee and a pastry prepared by the Marysienne. You don't have to be an artist, as there are a variety of stencils to choose from. You can bring your little one from the age of 2. The "enameling" part that follows the painting is done by Anaëlle, who imagined this place, inspired by a concept discovered in Canada. A week after the workshop, you can pick up your work of art. A real treat!
DUFAYARD FRANCOISE
Read moreFrançoise Dufayard is a renowned ceramist based in Rennes, Brittany. Since 1988, she has been creating a warm collection of pottery for everyday use in her studio. Her work is characterized by large, square dishes, reminiscent of a painter's work. She uses a glazed clay technique with engobe decoration on raw clay under a transparent glaze, giving her creations a luminosity and depth reminiscent of Far Eastern lacquers. Her style is influenced by her travels in Asia, where she studied traditional and contemporary ceramics. She has participated in numerous exhibitions abroad and has given Master-Classes in India and the UK. Her work can be found in private and public collections, including those of the Musée National de Céramique de Sèvres in France and the University of Wales in the UK.
