LE BAZAR À PÉTALES
Read moreIn the middle of lively Rue Saint-Hélier, enter the gentle, poetic world of Camille, floral artist since 2018. Her lengthy studio-boutique is full of charm: floor-to-ceiling flowers in every color, pampas in shambles, foliage and floral wreaths on the walls, a craft cabinet whose drawers are overflowing with ribbons... The house specialty: dried flowers - Camille dries some herself! You can also pick up fresh flowers, some of which are grown on her husband's farm. The large central table hosts workshops for bouquets and wreaths. Don't forget Camille for your special events.
L'EMAILLERIE
Read moreThis recently opened ceramics café offers a new concept: come and paint your own ceramic piece, choosing from mugs, plates, vases, dishes, butter dishes, carafes... in a warm and inspiring setting where you can also enjoy a coffee and a pastry prepared by the Marysienne. You don't have to be an artist, as there are a variety of stencils to choose from. You can bring your little one from the age of 2. The "enameling" part that follows the painting is done by Anaëlle, who imagined this place, inspired by a concept discovered in Canada. A week after the workshop, you can pick up your work of art. A real treat!
LE BEL HASARD
Read moreThe shop window is an eye-catcher, and the door is quickly opened to discover Judith's unique world. In her boutique, this inveterate 70s bargain-hunter mixes styles with flair: flower plates and antique candlesticks are set off against a cotton tablecloth made in Portugal; around the table, sixties chairs sit alongside light-colored wooden seats. Judith's imagination inspires us, and objects appear to us from another angle. This champagne cup becomes a candle-holder, this glass lampshade would welcome dried flowers... Customers smile, recognizing here and there treasures sometimes seen at their grandmother's, here brought up to date. Good to know: Judith also buys second-hand furniture and objects!
A L'HEURE DES RÊVES
Read moreIn this high-ceilinged boutique behind the Parliament building, you'll enjoy discovering Elise Ferrandiz's tastefully selected selection of home furnishings. On the walls and shelves, you'll find a clever mix of artisanal products from Senegal and Portugal, local creations and rummaged-up finds. There's even a rack of pretty second-hand clothes. A tea room completes the experience, inviting you to take a gourmet break over a cup of tea from Barrony's, a company based in Finistère. Two tables nestle at the back of the more intimate boutique. Here's a good idea: it's possible to privatize the premises and benefit from decorating advice during private appointments.
MARGAUX DÉCO
Read moreThis family-run store is well known to the people of Rennes, and every year you'll find new items to give or to treat yourself. There's something for everyone, from French ceramics to small plants, from "Derrière la porte" boxes to flowery leather goods by Spanish brand Wouf. There's even something to decorate your walls, from the now cult Breton posters by La Loutre, to the paper birds you can make by Studio Roof. But if there's one corner you won't want to miss, it's the plush carousel at the back. There are plushies of all sizes, each one softer and more beautiful than the last! The Anima cuddly toys are stuffed with recycled plastic bottles. It's a great gift idea for kids, but we have to admit we almost fell for it too!
