The new Rennes Convention Centre, also known as the Convent of the Jacobins, will house several masterpieces from François Pinault's collection until 9 September 2018. The businessman is one of the greatest collectors of contemporary art in the world. While not all of the 3000 pieces have obviously arrived in Rennes, the exhibition "Standing Up" presents a journey that questions the ability of human beings to recover from the trials - colonization, immigration, war - and maintain their vital momentum.

The exhibition questions our time and our repeated history, it also raises questions of fate and death, as Caroline Bourgeois, curator of the exhibition, points out in substance. Among the artists present are works by Thomas Houseago, Thomas Shütte, Adel Abdessemed, Maurizio Cattelan, Pierre Huyghe, Charles Ray and Vincent Gicquel

It is also an opportunity to discover the architecture of the Convent of the Jacobins, inaugurated last December. The cultural building consists of a cloister and a central garden surrounded by a gallery
