Botanical park at Le Châtellier, to discover the magic of local and exotic plants in a mishmash of perfumes and colors
This botanical park has been open to the public since 1996. It offers the magic of local and exotic plants in a jumble of fragrances and colors. Children can discover a prehistoric garden, a suspension bridge and a plant maze in which to search for the famous Minotaur. 24 gardens follow one another over 25 hectares, including the Garden of 1001 Nights, the City of Knossos, the Prehistoric Garden, the Sunset Garden and the Garden of Ancient Roses. Alleys of roses, lines of water, rare species... All adapted to the Breton climate. The château, built between 1826 and 1850 in a neo-classical style, is also very pleasant. You can spend the night in one of the five guest rooms (and enjoy the privilege of strolling through the park when it's not open to the public!), enjoy the tea room and its terrace from April to September, or the restaurant Le Casse-Graines, which opens from May to October. The park has a garden center where you can buy plants, flowers and unusual species. A boutique/bookshop also offers a wide selection of handicrafts and souvenirs on the theme of nature, botany and gardening. Finally, the park organizes several events throughout the year. In 2021, the free "Hortus Botanica" application was launched. It lists and geolocates almost 4,000 species of flowers (including 550 species of camellia!) and plants found in the park.
