An industrial site of the dam at the mouth of the Rance estuary producing hydroelectricity from renewable energy
Inaugurated in 1966 by General de Gaulle, the tidal power plant is located at the mouth of the Rance estuary between Dinard and Saint-Malo. The dam's industrial site produces hydroelectricity, a 100% renewable energy source powered by the tides. The Espace EDF Odyssélec presents the workings of the plant through a fun exhibition and a panoramic view of the engine room. An original visit with a fantastic viewpoint.

Une belle expérience, nous avons pris la visite guidée. Notre guide était au top et nous a bien tout expliquer dans la joie et la bonne humeur. Merci encore pour cette visite.

Très belle visite guidée par anaick conférencière qui connaît son sujet et surtout qui est très impliquée. Pleine d'humour, la visite très ludique à bien durée presque 2 bonnes heures. En plein air pour tout l'historique du barrage, du commencement des travaux jusqu'à l'inauguration faite en novembre 1966 par le général de Gaulle. Ensuite au sous-sol, pour toute la machinerie, comment fonctionnent les turbines, les énormes pales. La station marée motrice qui produit l'électricité, et ensuite stockée. Un gigantesque ouvrage qui pendant des années à été novateur en France mais aussi à travers le monde. Peut être pour les enfants un peu long, mais visite très instructive. À faire.
