The Coatloc'h state forest is home to many species of trees
Formerly the cradle of clog makers and stone-cutters, the Coatloc'h state forest is home to numerous species of trees. The raw material for making clogs was the wood of beech trees, which are present in large numbers. As for the stonemasons, they had discovered quarries of soft granite. In the heart of the forest are the forest house (built after the hurricane of 1838) and a reconstruction of a hoof hut, also called a lodge.
