Museum presenting the history of maritime signalling and evoking the many shipwrecks that have occurred in the area.
The Musée des Phares et Balises d'Ouessant is currently closed for two years of renovation. It is scheduled to reopen in 2027. The museum, inaugurated in 1988, is currently undergoing a major renovation and expansion project. When it reopens, visitors will enter through the courtyard of the Créac'h lighthouse, and discover a new reception area, a store and a relaxation area in the former warden's quarters. The permanent exhibition, set up in the former engine room, will retrace over 2,000 years of lighthouse history. Models, artefacts, photos and films will enhance the visit, culminating in an ascent of the lighthouse.
