Abbey of modern architecture with the tomb of King Gradlon, hotel and park in a peaceful setting, ideal for a retreat.
Founded by Saint Guénolé at the end of the5th century, this monastery soon became one of Brittany's leading monastic centers, under the rule of Saint Benedict. In 913, the first monastery was destroyed by the Normans. The present abbey, with its modern architecture, was built between 1950 and 1965 by the Benedictine monks of Kébénéat, who have maintained a presence here for fifteen centuries. The remains of the former abbey date from the 9th and 12th centuries, as does the tomb of King Gradlon. The guesthouse welcomes guests for a time of retreat and silence, with free participation in prayer.
