Shelters for passing sailors, founded by Jacques de Thézac in Combrit.

Aware of the hard life of fishermen's fishermen, Jacques de Thézac founded 15 shelters of the sailor along the Brittany coast at the beginning of the twentieth century to offer sanctuaries to the sailors. Meeting and exchange places but also training and medical monitoring for fishermen and their families, alcohol is prohibited. Recently renovated, the Saint-Marine shelter, with its cultural and maritime vocation, offers an exhibition space dedicated to its founder and the work of the sailors' shelters and a reading room upstairs. This place of memory has kept all its soul, the atmosphere of the shelter is restored as it was in 1910, at its opening. The temporary exhibitions presented testify to the maritime activity of the region and help to keep the memory of Jacques de Thézac's work alive. Futed: various animations are offered (embroidery workshop…).
