ARSENAL AND MILITARY PORT
The Brest arsenal includes the military and naval buildings of the national Navy based in Brest. It is today one of the oldest strongholds in Europe. Despite the Second World War bombings, most of its buildings remained upright, starting with the old submarine base. Lovers of sea, boating and shipbuilding will enjoy this exceptional guided tour, which will reveal, among others, the dry docks in which the most beautiful jewels of the Royale were built, such as the Charles-de-Gaulle aircraft carrier. Organised by the Préfecture maritime, this visit is the perfect opportunity to visit the naval base of the Ponant city, and, why not, to climb aboard a French military vessel, of course if the operational activity allows it! Be careful, it is a military area in activity, so photos are forbidden during the visit and a valid identity document is required at the entrance for the French and the citizens of the European Union and NATO. For others, a request must be made about three weeks before the visit (contact 02 98 22 06 12).
