Elsa Alayse is an artist based in Brest. Elsa Alayse specializes in ceramic and porcelain sculpture. Her works explore the human body as container, receptacle of emotions and organs. She draws her inspiration from reliquaries, Mexican ex-votos and African votive sculptures, as well as from curiosity cabinets and anatomy plates. Her work combines science and belief to create poetic, tender objects. Elsa Alayse's sculptures can sometimes be disconcerting for some, as they touch on the intimacy of body and mind.
