In the Alsatian Vosges, the Melkerei (marcairies in French) have been part of the landscape for centuries. These summer farms still house a few herds of cows and their janitor(Melker). At the Marcairie du Frankenthal, you will be treated to dishes based on good local products: soups with vegetables from the garden, hiker's planks (cold cuts, cheeses), seasonal fruit tarts, yoghurts from the farm, cottage cheese with kirsch... All of this is accompanied by homemade apple juice, craft beers and a good little Alsatian wine!
