A gastronomic institution in Senon with a wine list in an unmissable address.
For just over 40 years, "Le Clos des Jacobins" has been an institution in Senon gastronomy. And it's easy to see why. First of all, the setting is extremely chic. As for the menu, it's not only mouth-watering, but also lives up to expectations. On the Tradition menu, we liked the crispy goat's cheese with bacon, peppery caramel and salad, followed by a tajine of beef cheek with prunes, almonds and small semolina. Before finishing with a camembert crisp with sweet peppery caramel. And the wine list is just as good!

La grande salle aux murs blancs fait élégante impression. Tables espacées et fond musical discret. Carte ou choix entre 2 menus. Carte des vins resserrée avec toutefois plusieurs demi-bouteilles bienvenues. Chablis 1er Cru 2019 à recommander vivement. Les œufs en meurette servis avec générosité libèrent une belle personnalité. Poisson du marché cuit avec soin dans une abondante sauce au beurre blanc délicieuse. Et une Pavlova pour finir sur une note fraîche et (presque) légère. La patronne assure un service maîtrisé et courtois. Très longue attente néanmoins entre le plat et le dessert. Une cuisine des plus traditionnelles qui plaira aux amateurs avertis.

Le repas est très correct, restaurant en soi sympathique mais service moyen, pas de dialogue, de sourire. Assez long, on nous a un peu oublié. Du coup ambiance plus que mitigée. Je pense qu'ils ont davantage une clientèle plutôt âgée, nous nous étions un couple avec enfants.
