Vauban in the heart of Morvan. The Vauban Ecomuseum in Saint-Léger-Vauban allows visitors to explore his legacy and ideas on military art.
Located in the Morvan region where Vauban was born and raised, the museum, housed in an old Morvan house, traces the life, work and legacy of the marshal, famous for his star-shaped fortifications. Created in 1980, it highlights Vauban's avant-garde ideas, including his reforms in military art, regional planning and the economy. The museum also offers easy-to-read and easy-to-understand tour booklets in French for maximum accessibility.
