The first traces evoking the lords of Merry appear in the 12th century. From the 17th century, the lords in question abandoned the castle, which was then used for agricultural activities that still continue today, while other parts were simply left to decay, gradually becoming ruins. This feudal castle built on the left bank of the Yonne river has two square towers in the corners.
