Mailly-le-Château is a magnificent village on the edge of a cliff. A bucolic place to stroll around while going green, it has - as its name suggests - a castle. This castle offers many quality guest rooms. Still surrounded by its ramparts, the castle retains its stature and imposes it: inside, five buildings surround a central courtyard. We like the vaulted cellars dating from the Middle Ages, today spacious suites with monumental fireplaces and tastefully decorated, one of them even has its own whirlpool bath. Above, the 19th-century residence offers six rooms with breathtaking views. The former stables, called "common", have a ground floor with kitchen and living room, and four bedrooms on the first floor. Two recently transformed pavilions into air-conditioned, bright studios with exposed stone walls are also available for guests who wish to stay there.
