The castle of Étaules is located between Étaules-le-Haut and Étaules-le-Bas.
Between Étaules-le-Haut and Étaules-le-Bas, the castle of Étaules stands since the XVIth century according to some, since the XVIIth for others. The chapel and the portal of the time are still visible even if the castle, now private property, is not visited. During the Second World War, the site was the scene of an escape of the future General Leclerc before he joined General de Gaulle in London.
