Museum presenting the history of the Avallonnais through various works and collections from the excavations of the Arcy caves.
The history of the Avallonnais is presented here through works such as those of the sculptors Loiseau-Bailly and Vigoureux. Or pieces by the goldsmith Després (well represented in the Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris and originally from Avallon), as well as amazing collections from the excavations carried out in the caves of Arcy-sur-Cure. The team of the Musée de l'Avallonnais tends towards the democratization of heritage, and knows perfectly well how to make its collections come alive. A little extra : regularly exhibitions of contemporary artists are organized.

Aantrekkelijk museum met opmerkelijk lage toegangsprijs. Grote diversiteit in wat tentoongesteld wordt. De collectie over 2 volkeren uit de invloedssfeer van China is ronduit indrukwekkend. Vriendelijke ontvangst.

Museo su due piani, il piano terra è dedicato alla storia del territorio a partire dalla Preistoria e delle esposizioni temporanee. Il secondo piano è dedicato a Yao, Mien et Mun

A hidden gem well worth the visit. The curator and staff are welcoming and share their love and knowledge of the artefacts with such joy. I appreciate that they also give you a wider social, cultural and historical context to all of the pieces. Merci.
