Pierre Virot, who runs a small 5-hectare domaine in the Burgundy and Mercurey appellations (including two red Premier Crus), has been awarded the prestigious Prix d'Excellence by the Concours Général Agricole in 2023 and 2024. This prize is awarded for his consistency in winning medals at the Paris Salon de l'Agriculture over the last four years. This achievement is all the more remarkable when you consider that this enthusiast has only been a winegrower since 2015. Previously a mechanical engineering teacher, he gave up everything to take over the family vineyards. A successful reconversion!
