Some twenty years ago, Stelios Trilyrakis returned to his village, Drakona, from his studies at the School of Tourism, to create a purely organic paradise using old grains and production and breeding methods that bring rare species such as Cretan cattle back to the region. He took the time to create a café, which has since been transformed into a restaurant where raw materials from his farm are used, and where electricity is useless. It's a culinary and lifestyle experience well worth the detour.

Ein herrlicher Ort in den Bergen. Jetzt im Frühjahr waren bei unseren beiden Besuchen nur wenige Tische besetzt und wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Sehr ursprüngliches Essen, aber eine Erfahrung wert. Wir haben uns einmal quer durchprobiert und einfach alles geteilt. Besonders lecker fanden wir die würzigen Schnecken, das Blumenkohlgemüse mit der weißen Sauce und die Ziege. Einfach nur süß waren der super liebe Haushund, der sogar Pfötchen geben kann und der wunderschöne, fürsorgliche, zurückhaltende Hahn mit seinen Hennen. Gekocht wird unter anderem in großen Töpfen mit offenem Feuer direkt an der Straße. Ein besonderes Erlebnis auf dem Lande.

This taverna continues to give it's customers superb Cretan food. You'll need a car and the drive to Ntounias has superb scenery.

Erinomainen ruoka. Pikkuinen itku pääsi kun ruoka oli niin hyvää. Semmoista harvoin tapahtuu. Oli mukava kun avoimeen keittiöön pääsi näkemään sisälle. Oikeaa kunnon ruokaa, eikä mitään turistimössöä.
